SilverBirch is a Toronto Canada based digital media company focused on video game and mobile markets. SilverBirch Studios and G4Box are the North American publisher of Metin 2, a MMO originally developed in Korea by Ymir Entertainment. SilverBirch's business model for Metin 2 is free play with an option to purchase play items. SilverBirch Studios is the developer for N+ on the Nintendo DS and PSP system and the Atari site shows pre-order for $19.95 with an availability date of August 26, 2008 [rl Atari US N+ page, August 20, 2008 check] This is the first time we've seen a price and pre order button which makes August 26th look like a solid date. SiliverBirch Studio acquisitions in 2007 include:

  • Jambo Mobile Solutions Inc.: acquired in February, 2007. Jambo Mobile Solutions operates as a provider of wireless marketing solutions, employing SMS, MMS and Bluetooth technologies and short-code billing mechanisms to deliver targeted opt-in promotional content to cellular devices. Key technologies include Ignition™ and M-Powr™ platforms. Recent Jambo wins include:
    • Jambo Mobile chosen to power mobile initiatives for Virgin Festivals across Canada [yahoo NR April 9, 2008]
    • Jambo Mobile Powers Canada's First Interactive $1,000,000 Contest Featured on MastersGolf.ca [yahoo NR April 3, 2008]
  • CrossRoad Mobile, LLC. is a developer and provider of premium SMS, audio and text content for the predominantly US market. SilverBirch purchased a 60% controlling interest in CrossRoad Mobile effective September 1, 2007. CrossRoad is a Nevada registered LCC operating in Dallas, Texas.

Derek van der Plaat, the SilverBirch Studio President and CEO since September 2006, had been CEO and CFO of Puretracks, a company he founded and sold to Bell Canada. Prior to founding Puretracks Mr. van der Plaat held the position of Managing Director Investment Banking, CIBC World Markets where he worked on a large number of advisory, valuation and financing transactions in the technology, manufacturing, transportation, wholesale, telecom and software industries. Jambo Mobile Solutions Inc.

  • December 2007: Signed 2 year contract Lavalife Corp. to become its primary text and content fullfilment partner for Canadian and U.S. market. Lavalife is the #1 website for online dating in Canada and is ranked among the top 10 worldwide.

Warrants:

  • March 7, 2008: SilverBirch has elected to exercise its right to accelerate the expiry of its outstanding August 2007 twenty two cent warrants. 7,861,290 warrants presently outstanding. The new date set for the warrants to expire is Friday April 11th. [yahoo news]
  • February 4, 2008, the Company closed a Private Placement with Northern Rivers Capital Management Inc. whereby it issued 1,000,000 units each comprising one common share priced at $0.30 and one warrant exercisable at $0.60, the latter having an expiry date two years hence.
