Poker Room Ordering on www.pokerpulse.com

Effective June 22, 2003, PokerPulse is introducing a poker room ranking algorithm to determine the order in which poker rooms are displayed on www.pokerpulse.com. Poker Room Ranking Algorithm, Version 0.1

Definitions for the www.pokerpulse.com page.
Detail Page Region
Description
<room> (right hand side of our main page) Clicking on a room name takes you to the detail page for that room or network. The list of rooms / networks tracked (and for which we prepare a details page is listed above).
Action Summary Now This grouping of columns presents the latest sample counts from the poker rooms we cover. We typically update this page every time we have a new poker room sample. Not all poker rooms are sampled at the same time. However, we typically sample each poker room a few times an hour. The last update time value give you the time of the last update to this page. The row age column gives you a quick summary of the age of the data in each row at the last update time.
24-hour Peaks The peak counts from the most recent 24-hour samples.
Poker Room The name of the poker room being reported in the table row. Use this link to get more details on the action at the poker room, including average pot size distributions, 24 hour averages and charts.
visit link The text link "visit" in a given room / network row is either a direct link to a home page for the room (or a room on the network). In some case we provide a drop down menu with links to many of the rooms on the network.
#RG The number of real money ring games with one or more seated players.
#RP The number of seated real money ring game players.
#TP The number of real money tournament players.
#H The number of real money hold'em games with one or more seated players.
#O The number of real money omaha games with one or more seated players.
#S The number of real money stud games with one or more seated players.
Age
This column shows the age of the sample being displayed.
if the row is less than 14 mintues old at the last update time.
if the row is 15 minutes to 28 minutes old at the last update time.
if the row is 29 minutes to 40 minutes old at the last update time.
if the row is 41 minutes to 60 minutes old at the last update time.
no color in this column indicates that the last sample is more than 60 minutes old. Typically, the Action Summary Now values should be blank. This condition usually indicates a problem with PokerPulse sample collection.
If most rows are green and yellow, then PokerPulse is operating normally. If many rows are orange or red then PokerPulse is either having problems or is recovering from problems. Always check the Last Update time as the "Age" color coding is always relative to the last update time.
Last Update

This is the time we last updated the Action Summary Now. These counts are never more than 60 minutes old at the last update time. Please check the color code under the Age column to see the age of a give row at the last update time.

If after you refresh your browser, the Last Update time is older than 45 minute, it likely means Poker Pulse is temporarily down. Please check back later.

Computation

Compute each of the ranking factors, sum the rank factors for each room, and display the rooms in order of increasing rank factors. Currently, this computation is completed as we notice changes in room activities but never more often then every few days and typically every few weeks.

Click here to view the time of the last computation run and the resulting spreadsheet generated for the room display ranking.

Summary -- the rooms with the lowest order rank factors are displayed first.
